Browns Rookie Already Being Overhyped

The Pittsburgh Steelers might have another Cleveland Browns wide receiver to worry about.

PITTSBURGH -- Organized Team Activities are great. It's the first time fans and coaches get a look at their team and the first time NFL rookies get to step on a field and begin sculpting their careers.

Sometimes, though, guys gain fame from, well, very little. And this time around, it's Cleveland Browns wide receiver Cedric Tillman who's already being compared to a former Offensive Player of the Year.

There are two sides of this. For one, we (All Steelers) were calling George Pickens a star in the making last year at this time. Seeing him at OTAs was all we needed to see to know the Steelers rookie was going to be something special.

And, well, it happened. So, sometimes the hype is real.

Then, there's the other side that says everyone is a superstar in helmets and shorts.

"Less talk, more work," Mike Tomlin famously said about OTAs hype.

For the Pittsburgh Steelers, if Tillman is a superstar in the making, it's concerning. Amari Cooper and Nick Chubb are dangerous enough to play twice a year. Adding a rookie with a whole career ahead of him isn't what they're looking for.

Still, it's time to keep expectations calm. Tillman is an impressive player who should be a very good NFL player. Until the pads come on, though, it's very difficult to know who's going to make it in this league.

A lot of guys are camp heroes. Don't get sucked in too early.
