PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are making a splash trade for wide receiver Allen Robinson, finalizing a deal with the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Robinson, 29, played 10 games for the Rams last season, catching 33 passes for 339 yards and three touchdowns. The Pro Bowler has had three 1,000-yard seasons and brings 43 career touchdowns to Pittsburgh to help Kenny Pickett.

Robinson is going through a physical by the Steelers. If he passes, a trade is expected to happen. He suffered a season-ending foot injury in 2022.

Robinson will join the Steelers' receiving core that includes Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, Calvin Austin III, Anthony Miller and Gunner Olszewski. He should have no problems earning a roster spot, but will likely compete with Austin for playing time.

Pittsburgh has also done plenty of scouting on wide receivers in the NFL Draft, and are anticipated to add to the group through the draft as well. As Pickett enters his second season, the Steelers will do everything they can to bulk up his receiving core.

Robinson signed a three-year, $46.5 million deal with the Rams in 2022. He's set to make $18 million in the next two seasons, including $15 million guaranteed this year.

He's been paid $5 million by the Rams already this season and will only take on a portion of the remaining $10 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.

UPDATE: Steelers will pay just $5 million of the remaining guaranteed money this season. The compensation is a late-round draft pick, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
