Report: Former Steelers' Ryan Clark Staying With ESPN

Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Ryan Clark will remain with ESPN.

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ryan Clark had made his intention to leave his position as a commentator on ESPN, will reportedly stay with the sports media giant.

According to a report from The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, Clark, who played eight seasons for the Steelers, will remain with ESPN and sign a new contract after his previous deal ran out days before the Super Bowl.

Clark and ESPN reached an agreement to extend his contract through Super Bowl weekend and renegotiate when the season officially ended.

ESPN declined to comment on the matter, according to Marchand, but he added that the network is expected to make an announcement confirming the new deal soon.

“3 years ago I signed an extension with ESPN. I was so grateful for more time. I (was) excited to prove I was worth more, felt I deserved more. We disagreed, & that’s ok. I set out on a mission to leave no doubt, end all conversations about my who I was in this business," Clark wrote on Twitter during negotiations. “The season is over. The deal is up. Time to make a decision. Either way it goes. The mission don’t change. I want to be the best doing it. Everyone should. I’m more motivated today than ever. I’m still the same #UndraftedFreeAgent!”

Clark is a contributor to ESPN's NFL Live and hosts his own podcast The Pivot. He also hosted Inside the NFL on The CW Network. He's expected to continue appearing in all of those roles and return to his spot as a commentator on Monday Night Countdown
