What Aaron Curry's Role Will Be With Steelers

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly have their new linebackers coach in Aaron Curry, but despite filling his position on the coaching staff, is an inexperienced coach going to take on the same responsibilities Brian Flores did?
Flores showed up in Pittsburgh as the senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach. He worked primarily with the inside linebackers but made it known he helped with all the defensive groups, especially those that worked hand-in-hand with the inside linebacker room.
For example, he had some say with the defensive line and the safeties.
Flores has been credited with helping develop run-stopping techniques and different blitzes the Steelers would use throughout the season.
So, will Curry take on the same role in Pittsburgh?
Chances are probably not. While any coach the Steelers hire will be looked on to improve a group, it's hard to imagine someone with no positional coaching experience is going to take on more than they can chew with their first job outside of a coaching assistant.
The Steelers likely don't want to lean too heavily on Curry anyways. Getting his feet wet with the linebackers will be step one, which likely takes up most of year one.
Now, Pittsburgh always takes input from their entire coaching staff when devising their weekly game plan, and Curry will be involved there. But as much as Flores was in creating different scenarios for the group? Probably not.
Look for Curry to work with Mark Robinson a lot and help any other young inside linebacker that enters the room this offseason. Those players will need more hands-on coaching than those like Myles Jack.
Year one won't be very exciting for Curry's involvement. Afterward, though, things will ramp up, with the end goal being an inside linebackers coach that could be a heavy contributor to the defense's overall success.
