PITTSBURGH -- Players and coaches of the Albany Empire have had enough of their employer, former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown.

After paychecks from the Empire's final game against the Orlando Predators were pulled from the bank accounts of players and coaches, members of the Empire are preparing a class-action lawsuit against Brown, according to a report from Mark Singelais of the Albany Times Union

“I’m frustrated,” Empire head coach Moe Leggett said. “I’m frustrated. I tried to give (Brown) the benefit of the doubt. I tried to work with him. I was trying to be the peacemaker, the mediator to make sure things ran smoothly and just under the radar. But I can no longer do that.”

The Empire had been kicked out of the National Arena League earlier this month after that season finale against the Predators.

Leggett claims players were paid their final game checks two weeks ago, but in the days following, players shared screenshots of account reversals in a group chat. Leggett then checked his own account and saw that his paycheck had also been reversed.

He tried to contact Brown, his accountant and team president Alberony Denis to no avail. Leggett added that players are owed amounts of $500 or more from the Orlando game.

The Empire are in default of their license agreement with MVP Arena general manager Bob Belber, who owns their home stadium and Brown owes the NAL $21,000 in league assessment fees, according to Commissioner Chris Siegfried.
