Steelers Waive TE Christian Scotland-Williamson

PITTSBURGH -- The Steelers announced Monday afternoon that they have waived tight end Christian Scotland-Williamson. Williamson was a former rugby player from England, who signed with the Steelers through the NFL's International Player Pathway.
Scotland-Williamson was part of the team's practice squad over the last two seasons but never caught traction on the roster. During his time in Pittsburgh, he was never active during a regular season game.
The Steelers signed tight end Eric Ebron to a two-year, $12 million deal this spring. They also drafted Zach Gentry in the fifth-round of the 2019 NFL Draft and still have Vance McDonald and Kevin Rader on the roster.
This move comes before the team's rookies reporting to camp for the summer. The Steelers have yet to agree to contracts with any of their 16 rookies.
Sunday, running back, Anthony McFarland tweeted, hinting at agreeing to his rookie deal before deleting the post.
"Some great news this morning! thank God," McFarland wrote. "Now it's time to grow and be the best man I can be..."
The team or McFarland hasn't announced anything publicly since the tweet.
