Texans ‘Open for Business’ to Trade No. 2 Pick

The Houston Texans are not ruling out trading the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft

The Houston Texans were assumed to be zeroing in on a quarterback with their No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft on April 27 in Kansas City.

But now, it appears that things could be changing.

According to general manager Nick Caserio during a meeting with the media on Monday in Houston, the Texans are open to moving out of the No. 2 overall pick.

Or at least open to listening to offers.

"We've received some calls on the number 2 pick," Caserio said. "If you want to quote me... Are we open for business? We're open to listening."

Of course, Caserio did not detail which teams have contacted the Texans as of yet.

However, the news does come at an interesting time for the Texans, with sources telling TexansDaily.com that head coach DeMeco Ryans was leading toward defense with the team's first pick.

But more specifically, Alabama edge rusher, Will Anderson.

Not only that, but the Texans are also now rumored to be losing out on the sweepstakes for Alabama Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, who has been trending toward the Carolina Panthers at No. 1 over the last few days.

With that in mind, it appears that those two scenarios, plus the Texans now being 'open' to trading back, could very well be more than a coincidence.

And considering teams just behind the Texans, including the Colts, Seahawks, Titans and others, all seemingly in the market for a QB, it would seem that Houston holds the leverage here, and could reap the benefits should they decide to.
