Thursday Injury Report: Wake Gets Back To Work

Outside linebacker missed the previous two weeks and Wednesday's workout with a groin injury

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Cameron Wake’s absence the past couple weeks has not gone unnoticed.

“It’s always nice having him out there,” Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Dean Pees said prior to Thursday’s practice. “You feel like you got a little different four-man rush than maybe you normally do when he’s not there.”

Pees, therefore, had to feel good about what he saw in the day’s workout. Wake, the veteran outside linebacker and designated pass rusher, was a full participant. It was the first time in more than two weeks that he took part in a practice session. A groin injury caused him to miss the last two games as well as Wednesday’s practice session.

Things will be even better if Wake is available Sunday when the Titans meet the Los Angeles Chargers at Nissan Stadium.

In the four games Wake played the Titans averaged 3.3 sacks. In two contests without him the defense averaged 2.5. Wake is tied for second on the team with two and a half sacks.

“I thought the guys that have filled in have done a good job,” Pees said. “Hopefully, we get him back. We’ll wait and see.”
