Today for our SI Gambling daily prop bet, we will dive into the Los Angeles Rams and how they will fare this upcoming season. The Rams are just over a year removed from playing the Patriots in the Super Bowl, but this past season they did not qualify for the playoffs.

This upcoming season, the FanDuel Sportsbook has them at +140 odds to make the playoffs. If they don't qualify for the postseason, those odds are set at -172.

Last season, the Rams opened up with three straight wins and looked to be in pretty good shape. Over the final 13 games, the Rams only had three victories. In their losses, the Rams struggled on defense. They allowed 30 or more points five times.

The Rams offense didn't look as crisp last year either, as it did their Super Bowl season. Todd Gurley's health was a part of that, but really it was poor play from quarterback Jared Goff that hurt them. In 2017 and 2018, Goff had quarterback ratings over 100. In 2019, it dipped to 86.

In fact, most of Goff's numbers took a hit last year. For example, he had the most passing attempts of his career, yet his yards per attempt was 7.4 compared 8.4 in 2018. He threw 22 touchdown passes and had 16 interceptions (32-12 in 2018). Goff's regression is real, and I think it will continue.

It's going to be tough for the Rams to qualify for the playoffs in the NFC West. San Francisco and Seattle are still the class of the division, and both should be in the playoffs again. Dallas and Philadelphia will likely represent the NFC East in the postseason. The NFC North's Green Bay and Minnesota are both better teams than the Rams. The NFC South has Drew Brees and the Saints, and now they also have Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

Even with the extra playoff spot for the upcoming season, I think the Rams will be left out and would wager that they won't qualify for the postseason.
