Ivan Pace Jr. isn't the only Cincinnati linebacker in the Vikings' UDFA class this year. Wilson Huber is an intriguing prospect because he's big, athletic, and began his college career playing on the other side of the ball.

Huber was a dominant two-player during his high school career in Indiana and signed with Cincinnati as a tight end. After redshirting his first year on campus, he caught two passes in 2018 and also contributed on special teams with three tackles and a fumble recovery touchdown. In 2019, Cincy's coaches used Huber in a variety of roles in all three phases. He was a key special teams player with two blocked punts and a 13-yard run on a fourth down — and he also had 8 tackles and a PBU at linebacker.

In 2020, Huber switched to linebacker full-time, but his most important role for the next two seasons was still on special teams. He had another fumble recovery and blocked punt in 2021, plus three sacks — including one of Bryce Young in the College Football Playoff semifinal — as a rotational linebacker. In 2022, Huber's sixth season, he was named team captain and finally became a starting linebacker, recording 54 tackles and 6.5 TFL.

Huber is a fantastic athlete at 6'4", 241 pounds, with 4.7 speed and elite scores in the broad jump and three-cone drill. Even as an older prospect, he's still developing as a linebacker, having started his career at tight end. The thing that gives Huber a chance to earn a practice squad spot with the Vikings is his extensive experience and ability on special teams. He was a difference-maker in that phase for the Bearcats and will look to bring that impact to the NFL.
