Analyzing a Few More Interesting Pre-Draft Prospect Visits for Vikings

In this story:
The 2024 NFL Draft is just two weeks away. Every day, there are new reports about prospects taking official visits with teams. Here are three new ones from Tuesday for the Vikings.
Ohio State DB Josh Proctor
- Source: Justin Melo
Proctor was on the National Team defense coached by Vikings DBs coaches Daronte Jones and Michael Hutchings at the Senior Bowl. He had the best year of his career as a sixth-year senior in 2023, recording four tackles for loss and nine passes defended, including a pick-six. In 2021, he suffered a compound leg fracture after just two games. Proctor is a long, rangy safety who should contribute right away on special teams. He's already 25 years old and is a projected Day 3 pick.
Memphis RB Blake Watson

The Vikings have Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler in their backfield, but they could look to add another late-round running back after doing so with DeWayne McBride last year. Watson is another older prospect, a sixth-year senior who transferred from Old Dominion to Memphis for his final season and had over 1,600 yards from scrimmage and 17 touchdowns. His 53 receptions were second-most in FBS among running backs. At 5'9", Watson projects as a third-down back who can catch the football and make plays in space.
UTSA WR Joshua Cephus
- Source: Aaron Wilson
Cephus is a late-round wide receiver prospect who had nearly 3,000 yards and 22 touchdowns over the past three seasons, including a 89-1,151-10 line last year as a fifth-year senior. He isn't an elite athlete, but he's a good route runner with impressive hands and body control. He could be a decent depth piece for the Vikings' offense.
