It's a four-year deal for Addison worth $13.7 million, a figure determined by his draft slot. Three years from now, the Vikings will have the ability to pick up his fifth-year option for the 2027 season. Although rookie contract values are set figures, there are other aspects that can be negotiated, which is why some players sign sooner than others.
The Vikings have now signed five of their six draft picks. Seventh-round running back DeWayne McBride is the only member of their draft class who has not yet been officially signed.
Expectations are high for Addison in Minnesota, who will likely step right into Adam Thielen's vacated role as the No. 2 wide receiver in Kevin O'Connell's offense. Playing alongside Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson, Addison should see no shortage of 1-on-1 opportunities. As a gifted, refined route runner, he has the skill set to take advantage of those single coverage looks.
Jordan Addison is Ready to Get Going With the Minnesota Vikings
Addison took part in the Vikings' rookie minicamp last weekend — with a "rookie participation agreement" that protected him financially against the possibility of injury — and looked as advertised, showing off his sharp change-of-direction ability and reliable hands. The team believes he has a bright future as part of a long-term pairing with Jefferson.
