Varlamov says groin healed, will start vs. Canucks
In a video on the team's website, Varlamov told reporters after practice Thursday that he feels good.
The Russian goaltender went on injured reserve after tweaking his groin in a pregame skate last Thursday at Ottawa. Reto Berra started against the Senators, but left the game after he was knocked over.
Rookie goalie Calvin Pickard finished that game and started another before Berra returned to the net.
Varlamov is 0-2-1 with a 3.80 goals-against average. He led the NHL with 41 wins a season ago.
The Avs are off to a sluggish 1-4-2 start.
