Aksel Lund Svindal
Svindal has dominated the super-G event on the World Cup circuit this season, winning three events and finishing third at the world championships. He could medal in multiple events at the Games.
Marcel Hirscher
A slalom specialist, Hirscher has won four slalom events and two giant slalom events on the World Cup circuit this year, and will be competing for a spot on the podium in Sochi.
Tina Maze
Maze is currently having one of the best seasons for a female alpine skier ever. She's won four giant slalom World Cup events, and seized the super-G world title.
Chris Del Bosco
Del Bosco won ski cross gold in the 2010 and '12 X Games, and snagged the world title in '11. He had a disappointing final run in Vancouver, and will be looking for more next year.
Kevin Rolland
Kevin Rolland will make history when he competes in the newly-added freeskiing events at the Sochi Olympics. He won the halfpipe world title in 2009 and silver in 2011.
Mikael Kingsbury
Kingsbury, a freestyle skier, won the World Cup rookie of the year award in 2010, and his career has only gone uphill from there.
Gregor Schlierenzauer
Schlierenzauer leads the ski jumping World Cup circuit by over 400 points, and is well-positioned to add to his three Olympic medals from Vancouver.
Torah Bright
Bright, reigning Olympic champ in the snowboard halfpipe, just won the bronze in the new Olympic event slopestyle at the world championships. She should compete in both in Sochi next year.
Jason Lamy-Chappuis
Lamy-Chappuis won Olympic gold in the 10k individual normal hill biathlon event, after the closest finish in Olympic Nordic combined history. He should be back to defend his title in Sochi.

Martin Fourcade dominated the 2012 biathlon world championships, winning gold medals in three events.
Tora Berger
Berger claimed three gold medals at the 2012 biathlon world championships, and should compete for another Olympic gold.
Iouri Podladtchikov
Podladtchikov won the snowboarding halfpipe world championships in 2013, putting him on track for his first Olympic medal in 2014.
Mark McMorris
Mark McMorris defending his gold medal in the snowboarding slopestyle event at the Winter X Games in 2013, and he'll be looking to win a first Olympic medal in this event.
Alex Ovechkin
The Washington Capitals' star has already made a deal with the team owner that he will represent his country in their home Winter Olympics next year. Look for him to revenge Russia's poor showing in the Vancouver Games.
Hayley Wickenheiser
Wickenheiser has played on the last four women's Canadian Olympic hockey teams, which have won gold the last three Olympics. She doesn't plan for anything to change in 2014.
Felix Loch
Since 2008 Loch has won eight luge world championship gold medals in both singles and team events. He became the youngest Olympic gold medalist in men's luge history in Vancouver.
Kaillie Humphries
Bobsleigher Kaillie Humphries and brakewoman Chelsea Valois handed German rival Cathleen Martini her first defeat on the Koenigssee course in three years in January. The defending Olympic champ also won the 2012 and '13 world championships.
Martins Dukurs
Dukurs finished second in the skeleton at the 2010 Olympics, but has since won four straight European Championships (2010-2013). Look for him to fight for the gold in Sochi.
Glenn Howard
Glenn Howard, 50, has won a record seven straight Ontario provincial curling championships, and 14 total. He claimed the 2012 world title, and is on track to secure an Olympic berth.
Evgeni Plushenko
Many think that Russia's Evgeni Plushenko was robbed of a figure skating gold medal in 2010, when he performed a quad while gold medal-winner Evan Lysacek did not. If he returns for Sochi, he will be looking for revenge.
Kim Yu-Na
Kim, the 2010 Olympic ladies' figure skating singles champion, took time off after Vancouver, but proved that she was back for real when she won the Korean national championships in 2013.
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir
Ice dancers Virtue and Moir will likely compete with the U.S.' Meryl Davis and Charlie White for the Olympic gold medal.

Sven Kramer
Kramer hopes to make his third speedskating Olympic team, and add to his collection of four Olympic medals.
Viktor Ahn
Ahn commanded the short track speedskating scene in the mid-2000s, but was unable to qualify for the 2010 Olympics. Should he qualify for the Sochi Games, they will likely be his last.
Wang Meng
Wang nearly swept the short track speedskating events at the 2010 Olympics, but fell in the 1,500 meter race and failed to finish.
