Malaga defender Weligton grabbed Barcelona striker Lionel Messi's face during their Spanish League match on Wednesday after claiming Messi called him a name

Malaga defender Weligton grabbed Barcelona striker Lionel Messi's face during their Spanish League match on Wednesday after claiming Messi called him a name.

During the 82nd minute of the match, which ended in a scoreless draw, Messi appeared to make contact with Weligton with his shoulder. Weligton turned around and grabbed Messi by the throat and shoved him to the ground.

Weligton received a yellow card for his actions and Barcelona's Gerard Pique was also yellow carded for his reaction.

“I grabbed Messi's face because he called me a 'son of a b****,' " Weligton said to reporters, according to the Daily Mail.   

Barcelona still leads the standings of La Liga with 13 points after five matches.
