Report: Redskins RB Hightower May Have Torn ACL

The Washington Redskins medical staff believes starting running back Tim Hightower may have suffered a torn ACL, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Hightower left Sunday’s loss at Carolina with a knee injury after carrying much of the load for the Redskins in the first half. An MRI has been scheduled for this morning.

With the inexperienced John Beck starting at quarterback for the Washington, the team had been planning to rely on a strong running game. Now veteran running back Ryan Torain and rookie Roy Helu will look to carry some of the load.
