Following Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos, the Miami Dolphins announced that they have signed J.P. Losman as the back-up quarterback to Matt Moore.  Sage Rosenfels, the previous back-up, has been placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list.

The former first-round draft pick Losman will play for Moore in emergency situations.  Moore’s status is day-to-day after injuring his ribs at Sunday night’s game, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Losman played with the Seattle Seahawks last year but saw no playing time. In 2009 he suited up for the Oakland Raiders but recorded only one passing attempt. Losman's best year came in 2006 when he posted an 84.9 quarterback rating.
