Andre Johnson Will Not Play This Weekend For The Texans

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will sit out this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to a tweet from John Clayton of ESPN.

“Gary Kubiak decided to rule out Andrew Johnson for a fourth consecutive game despite making progress recovering from hamstring injury,” Clayton tweeted.

Johnson told reporters yesterday that there was a chance he wouldn’t play this weekend if he didn’t start to feel better.

“If I feel the way I feel today,” Johnson told reporters yesterday,”I probably won’t play Sunday, but today is not Sunday.”

Johnson, 30, has missed the Texans’ previous three games recovering from a surgery to repair a hamstring injury. In his first four games of the season, Johnson hauled in 25 receptions for a total of 352 yards and two touchdowns.

The former first round pick has played his entire nine-year career with the Texans. The 6’3” receiver has recorded 100-or-more receptions in three separate seasons in his career, and has amassed 52 touchdowns total.
