Michael Vick's Status For Giants Game Uncertain With Rib Injury
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has missed practice for the second straight day as a result of two broken ribs, according to NFL.com. His status for this weekend’s game against the New York Giants remains uncertain.
Vick completed just 16 of 34 passes for 128 yards in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. It was later revealed by Eagles head coach Andy Reid that Vick had played with two broken ribs on his lower left side. Last year’s NFL Comeback Player of the Year has been plagued with injuries this season, suffering a concussion in Week 2 and a broken hand in Week 3.
Jonathan Tamari of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported yesterday that the Eagles’ reserve quarterback Vince Young took all of the first-team snaps at practice for the second consecutive day. Young, the former starter for the Tennessee Titans, has had just one pass attempt this season, which was intercepted by the Washington Redskins.
The 3-6 Eagles are facing a virtual must-win game against the 6-3 division rival New York Giants on Sunday night. A loss this week for the pre-season favorite Eagles could eliminate nearly all possibility of a playoff berth in 2011-12.
