Redskins Release Tashard Choice, Sign Draft Pick Evan Royster

The Redskins have released running back Tashard Choice, according to the team's official Twitter feed.

Choice was active for just one game with the Redskins, Sunday's loss to his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, in which he carried the ball 6 times for an unremarkable 7 yards.  The Redskins had claimed Choice off waivers from the Cowboys at the end of October, but he spent two weeks unable to play while dealing with an existing hamstring injury.

In place of Choice, the team signed running back Evan Royster from their practice squad.  Royster was a seventh round pick of the Redskins out of Penn State University, and grew up not far from the team's training facility in Virginia.

The team's Twitter feed also confirmed the subsequent move to replace Royster on the practice squad:

Taking Evan Royster's spot on the practice squad is RB Tristan Davis, who was with #Redskins earlier this season.
