Report: 'Better Than 50 Percent Chance' Peyton Manning Retires

Publish date:

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has missed this entire season while recovering from neck surgery.  Much of the discussion has centered around if he should return at the end of this year -- if available -- and if the team should consider drafting a top QB in the draft to groom under Manning in his final years.  According to a report from Chris Myers of Fox Sports tweeted by Ben Maller of Fox Sports Radio, Myers feels there there is "better than 50% chance he retires."

In Manning's absence, Kerry Collins, Curtis Painter, and Dan Orlovsky have combined to lead the Colts to a 0-11 record, likely sufficient to earn the team the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.  The projected top pick in that draft is Stanford QB Andrew Luck.
