Steelers Optimistic That Troy Polamalu Can Play This Weekend

The Pittsburgh Steelers are optimistic that Troy Polamalu will play this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN.

Polamalu suffered “concussion-like symptoms” after suffering a blow to the head early in Sunday night’s victory over the Kansas City chiefs. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin however said that the safety has not shown any typical concussion symptoms in the recent days since.

"We anticipate it being a non-issue moving forward this week," Tomlin told reporters Tuesday in Pittsburgh according to ESPN. "All things are positive in terms of his potential participation this week. Obviously, we'll continue to err on the side of caution."

Polamalu currently ranks second on the Steelers with 64 tackles this season. Last year in 14 games he collected 63 tackles and seven interceptions.
