Free-agent center Tyson Chandler had already publicly discussed his plans to sign with the New York Knicks, but there was one hitch to the plan: the Knicks needed to clear some cap room.  Now, according to a report from Marc Berman of the New York Post, that space has been cleared by way of a trade with the Washington Wizards, and the Knicks will be signing Chandler shortly.

"According to [a] source," Berman tweeted, "Knicks finalizing trade for Ronny Turiaf to Wizards [tonight] which will create enough cap space to make Chandler official."
