Report: Dolphins Fire Tony Sparano

The Miami Dolphins have fired head coach Tony Sparano, according to a tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Sparano has led the Dolphins to an AFC East worst 4-9 record thus far this season. The former Dallas Cowboys assistant head coach has led the Dolphins to 29-32 record over the course of his four-year tenure. Todd Bowles will take over as the interim head coach for Miami.

Sparano’s only playoff appearance came in his first season with the Dolphins when he led the club to an 11-5 record. Miami posted a 7-9 season in both 2009 and 2010.

Prior to Sunday’s 10-26 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Miami had won four of their previous five contests. The Dolphins, however, began the season 0-7.
