Report: Timberwolves Have Yet To Offer Kevin Love A Contract Extension

Tuesday January 3rd, 2012

The Minnesota Timberwolves have yet to offer star power-forward Kevin Love a contract extension, reports Peter Vecsey of the New York Post.

According to Vecsey’s source, if the Timberwolves fail to give Love an extension offer by Jan. 15, the All-star will refuse to re-sign with Minnesota long-term. Love will be a restricted free-agent this coming offseason, but will be an unrestricted free-agent in 2013. Love, 23, is currently averaging 25.4 points and 15.2 rebounds per game through five games with the Timberwolves this season. Last year Love scored 20.2 points and grabbed 15.2 rebounds per contest, earning his first-ever All-Star appearance.
