The Oklahoma City Thunder were fearing the worst when reserve guard Eric Maynor tumbled to the floor last night, clutching his right knee, midway through the fourth quarter of the team's win over the Rockets. Now the worst has been confirmed -- the team announced today that Maynor has torn his ACL and is done for the season.
Maynor fell hard on a drive to the basket with 7:47 left in last night's game. He remained on the floor for about two minutes and had to be carried off by teammates Kendrick Perkins, Lazar Hayward and Serge Ibaka.
Maynor, 24, was the No. 20 overall pick in the 2009 draft by the Utah Jazz. He was traded to the Thunder during his rookie season. He had a solid year in 2010-11, averaging 4.2 points and 2.9 assists per game off the bench as the backup for Russell Westbrook.
Rookie Reggie Jackson will likely see the bulk of Maynor's minutes this season.told the Oklahoman
