In response to a series of tweets by actor Rob Lowe that sent the internet for a whirl Wednesday afternoon, Archie Manning confirmed to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen that Peyton Manning has no plans to retire.

Lowe posted a series of tweets indicating that his “people” had informed him that Manning would retire. Lowe is a noted Colts fan, however he is not one to break sports news.

Manning is currently in the midst of attempting to come back after he missed the entirety of the 2011 NFL season after undergoing neck surgery. As a result, the Colts went just 2-14 after finishing 2010 with a 10-6 record.
