Report: Heat Have Interest In Chris Kaman

The Miami Heat have interest in New Orleans Hornets center Chris Kaman, according to Fox Sports.

Several members of the Heat front office, including Pat Riley, have been making calls to inquire about Kaman, sources have told Fox Sports. It is unknown whether Miami will attempt to trade for the former Clippers center, or if they will wait and see if the Hornets choose to buyout his contract following the March 15 trade deadline.

Kaman, 29, was traded by Los Angeles to New Orleans in the deal that sent Chris Paul to the Clippers. The former All-Star has been unable to find his place in the team’s rotation since, however, playing in just 21 games of the Hornets’ 29 contests this year, and starting in only eight of them.

It has been widely reported that the Hornets are attempting to trade Kaman, however if they are not able to, some believe they will simply buy out his contract.
