Magic CEO: Still No Decision Made On Dwight Howard's Future

We're less than four days away from the NBA trade deadline, and we're still waiting for the biggest domino to fall before everything else falls into place. The big question, of course, is what happens to Dwight Howard -- and according to the Orlando Sentinel, there's still no answer.

"We're not at the point where we're ready to answer that question yet," Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said today. "Sometime in the next four days we will be, but we're not at the point where we're ready to answer that question yet."

The market to trade for Howard is dominated by teams that would be able to pin down an extension for the big man before this summer -- to that end, the Los Angeles Lakers, New Jersey Nets and Dallas Mavericks remain the favorites. But the Magic may decide not to move Howard at all, a choice that hinges on whether they can convince Howard in the near future to stay.

The Sentinel reports that Martins has been meeting regularly with Howard to convince him to remain with the team after this summer. Martins met with Howard and at least one key adviser on Friday.
