Report: Grizzlies Interested In Signing Gilbert Arenas

All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas remains a free agent at age 30 -- and he's drawn the interest of the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Roland Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

The Grizzlies have won 12 of their last 16 games and now sit fourth in the Western Conference at 24-17, but they're still looking to address two main areas post-trade deadline -- a backup point guard, and more outside shooting. They're optimistic that Arenas would meet both needs.

Arenas hasn't played a minute in the NBA this season -- he's been unemployed since December, when the Orlando Magic became one of the first teams in the league to use their one-time amnesty clause and waive him. The Magic still owe Arenas $62 million, but the veteran guard is free to sign with another team for the veteran's minimum of $1.4 million. The Grizzlies have exactly one roster spot open.
