Report: Trail Blazers Will Waive Greg Oden

The Portland Trail Blazers will waive injured forward Greg Oden to make space for today’s acquisition of center Hasheem Thabeet, Johnny Flynn, Mehmet Okur and Shawne Williams, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. Oden is out for the season after knee surgery.

The Trail Blazers acquired Thabeet and Flynn from Houston for Marcus Camby and Okur, Williams and a first-round pick from New Jersey for Gerald Wallace. The team also fired head coach Nate McMillan.
