Cavs Waive Backup C Ryan Hollins

The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived backup center Ryan Hollins, just a day after rookie centerTristan Thompson had his best game as a pro, according to the Associated Press.

Thompson scored 27 points and had 12 rebounds in just his second career start Monday against the New Jersey Nets.

Hollins, 27, came to Cleveland from Minnesota, and the 7-footer averaged just 15.1 minutes per game and made seven starts. He made 16 starts for the Cavs in 2010.
