Alabama's National Championship Trophy Shattered

Reigning NCAA football champions the Alabama Crimson Tide now have one less piece of memorabilia in their expansive trophy case. According to ESPN.com, the Tide's Coaches' Trophy was knocked over and shattered Saturday.

After the Alabama's scrimmage Saturday, a player's father got his foot caught in the rug on which the trophy's podium sits, knocking the $30K crystal football to the ground.

The trophy manager for the American Football Coaches Association, Charlie Green, says that he uses adhesive tape when he tours the country with the trophy and he advises recipients to do likewise.
