Report: Cincinnati and Xavier to play on neutral court this season

Tuesday May 22nd, 2012

Xavier-Cincinnati men's basketball Xavier and Cincinnati fought last season. This year, they'll play on a neutral court.

A year after a late-game fight between rivals Cincinnati and Xavier led to multiple suspensions, the two sides will meet on a neutral court, according to a report by the Cincinnati Enquirer's Bill Koch.

The game will be held in U.S. Bank Arena in mid-December and broadcast on ESPN, Koch reported.

After last season's brawl, the schools agreed to move the game to a neutral court for two years and then reevaluate the situation. In the immediate aftermath, the brawl had different effects on each team. Each team suspended four players for their involvement in the fight. Both teams recovered to reach the Sweet 16.
