Report: Magic considering GM candidates from Thunder, Spurs

Sunday May 27th, 2012

In their quest to return to the NBA Finals, the Orlando Magic will hope to hire away from one of the teams fighting to get there.

According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, The Oklahoma City Thunder have granted the Magic permission to talk to their vice president and assistant general manager Troy Weaver. The Magic have also set their sights on San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey, but have yet to receive permission to speak to him about the open GM position in Orlando. The Magic parted ways with former GM Otis Smith after being eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Weaver and Lindsey's teams meet each other in game one of the Western Conference finals tomorrow evening at 8:30 p.m. ET.
