United States women's soccer head coach Pia Sunhage has released her 18-woman roster for this summer's Olympic games in the United Kingdom. Headlined by 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup stars Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, and Hope Solo, the 2012 Olympic roster features a total of 17 players from last year's World Cup squad.

The squad is also very similar to the one that won gold at the last Olympic games in Beijing, with 11 players retaining their spot from four years ago. The United States will face 2011 World Cup semi-finalists France in the first match of group play on July 25th at Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland. The Americans will also take on Colombia and Korea DPR in the group stage. The United States has advanced to the gold medal game in every Olympic women's soccer tournament that has been contested.
