Boston Celtics' Ray Allen expected to play in Game 2
Veteran Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen, who is battling an ankle injury and has struggled recently with his shooting, confirmed Wednesday morning that he would not sit out Game 2, according to a tweet by the New York Times' Howard Beck.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers told reporters on Tuesday that he wasn't prepared to go forward with a plan to rest Allen for a game, according to a report by ESPNBoston.com's Chris Forsberg.
Rivers had previously considered having Allen sit out Game 2. But after talking with the shooting guard and the team's trainers, he decided to let the veteran play.
"We're going to just keep rolling him out there and see what we can get," Rivers told reporters. "When we feel like he can't give it to us, we'll go with someone else. But I think right now, you have to give Ray a fighting chance."
Allen moved back into a starting role when Avery Bradley was lost for the season with a shoulder injury. Allen, one of the best shooters in NBA history, has struggled to find his stroke while dealing with a sore right ankle.
Allen, a nearly 90 percent free-throw shooter in his career, went 3-for-7 from the line in Monday's Game 1 loss to the Miami Heat. He scored only six points and made only one of his seven field-goal attempts.
