Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh traveled with the team to Boston, but he will not play in either Game 3 or Game 4 against the Boston Celtics, coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters on Thursday, reports the Boston Herald's Barry Jackson.

Bosh has been out with an abdominal strain since May 14. He was injured in Game 1 of Miami's second-round series with the Indiana Pacers.

Spoelstra said the team is happy with Bosh's progress. The team hopes Bosh is ready for the NBA Finals, if the team advances past the Celtics, but Jackson reports Miami has not officially ruled out a return later this series.

Spoelstra said Bosh took the trip to help him continue his rehabilitation work. "It's too early to tell" if he would be able to participate in contact practices, Spoelstra said.
