Report: Brooklyn Nets seeking first-round draft pick

Monday June 18th, 2012

The Brooklyn Nets are looking to make a splash withe their move across the state line. Apparently that includes a new first-round draft pick to show off to fans, according to a tweet from HoopsWorld's Alex Kennedy.

The Nets currently have just one pick in the draft, the 57th overall in the second round. The team was left without a first-round after an extraordinarily unlucky draft lottery. With a 25 percent chance of landing a top three choice, the Nets instead drew the sixth overall pick. As part of the trade that sent forward Gerald Wallace from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Nets midway through the season, the Nets were then required to relinquish that pick to the Blazers. The Charlotte Bobcats and Oklahoma City Thunder, with selections numbered 2 and 28 respectively, have both indicated a desire to part with their draft picks.
