Miami Heat v Dallas Mavericks - Game Five

Fresh off his second NBA championship, Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat will miss the London Olympics this summer because of knee surgery, according to an AP report via The Huffington Post:

The Miami Heat guard called USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski on Thursday and let them know that he is not healthy enough to participate in the Olympics. [W]ade tells The Associated Press that the situation is disappointing. Wade and his doctors are in the process of scheduling the surgery.

Wade led the team in scoring for the squad that won gold at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. This would've been his third Olympics; his first was with the U.S. team that took home the bronze medal in Athens in 2004.
