The Oklahoma City Thunder and head coach Scott Brooks have agreed in principle to a new four-year deal that will pay him $4 million a year, but the sides were still working out contract language Saturday night, TNT's David Aldridge reports.

Brooks, in his fourth season as coach, have taken the Thunder from one of the worst teams in the NBA to the brink of a championship.  The Thunder lost in five games to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. Brooks' contract was set to expire Sunday and the issues over the contract were reportedly how much in salary Brooks was to be compensated. Brooks made $2.1 million last season on a deal he signed in 2009. Eleven head coaches made $4 million or more last year.
