Minnesota Timberwolves forward Robbie Hummel told the team he plans to plan in Spain this year instead of the NBA.

Hummel, drafted by the Timberwolves 58th overall in June,  has agreed to a deal with El Obradoiro, which plays in Spain's top professional league.

Hummel starred at Purdue but tore the ACL in his right knee twice in less than 12 months.

“I am heading over to Spain. I’m excited," Hummel told the Lafayette Journal and Courier. "The Timberwolves and myself both agreed that it’s probably best for me to go overseas for a year. (The Timberwolves) have a lot of forwards on the team, but I still think the Timberwolves are my future.”
