Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul will be sidelined for the next eight weeks after the team announced on Tuesday that he underwent successful thumb surgery, according to a report from Chris Sheridan of SheridanHoops.com:
Chris Paul underwent surgery this morning to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, the Los Angeles Clippers announced today, saying the injury occurred last month during Team USA training camp in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to Sheridan, Paul can begin full-contract drills with the Clippers after his rehab period. He will definitely miss training camp and could miss the start of the regular season, which tips off Oct. 30. The Clippers' preseason begins Oct. 6 and the regular season starts on Halloween in a home game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
