The Dallas Cowboys fear linebacker Sean Lee needs season ending surgery on his right big toe that was injured in the team's victory over the Carolina Panthers, reports ESPN.com.

Lee was on crutches after the game because of a sprained toe suffered in the third quarter of the Cowboys 19-14 victory. He is listed as questionable for the Cowboys' home game on Sunday against the New York Giants.

Lee had an MRI on Monday and coach Jason Garrett said later in the afternoon the team was still awaiting the results. It is not clear whether Lee has suffered a case of turf toe or not. After the game Sunday, Lee said he would be OK, but he wore his tennis shoes to the bus with a suit.

Lee, in his third season out of Penn State, has 58 tackles and one interception this season.
