The Arizona Cardinals will start rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Wednesday.

Lindley, a sixth-round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, has played in one game this season completing nine of 20 passes for 64 yards in Arizona's 23-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday.

"He did a nice job in a hostile environment handling the game, without a lot of practice during the week," Whisenhunt said. "So where we are as a team and as an offense, it gives us a chance to see what he can do, see if he can't get, with a week of practice, if he can get in there and get us going and help us move the ball and score some points."

Lindley got the nod over John Skelton and Kevin Kolb, who is still injured. The Cardinals have lost six in a row.
