49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said on Tuesday that he expects defensive tackle Justin Smith will be able to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. Smith suffered an arm injury last Sunday during the 49ers 41-34 defeat over the Patriots.

Smith had an MRI Monday, and while the results were not released, Harbaugh did rule out torn triceps. It seems safe to assume everything came back clean if Harbaugh thinks Smith will be ready by Sunday.

"Everybody affectionately refers to Justin Smith around here as 'The Cowboy,'" Harbaugh said. "I expect we'll see The Cowboy. Knowing what I know of Justin Smith and the situation, I think The Cowboy will be around, saddled up ... roping and riding. If it's humanly possible, The Cowboy will be out there, roping and riding."
