Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer will not play in the season finale against the San Diego Chargers because of injuries to his ribs and lung, Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Monday.

Allen said Palmer has cracked ribs and a bruised lung and will not play again this season for the 4-11 Raiders.  That means either Matt Leinart or Terrelle Pryor will get the start against the Chargers on Sunday.

Palmer was hurt in the first quarter of the Raiders' 17-6 loss to the Carolina Panthers. In relief of Palmer, Leinart came in and completed 16 of 32 passes for 115 yards and an interception.
