Iman Shumpert to make Knicks season debut in London, will probably start

Iman Shumpert will make his season debut with the New York Knicks today, and will do it in London of all places.

Multiple media reports including tweets from Knicks beat writers Marc Berman of The New York Post and Al Iannazzone of Newsday say that Shumpert will make his first appearance of the season today and will likely start, although head coach Mike Woodson will probably limit him to 15 minutes.

The Knicks tip off at 3 p.m. EST in London's O2 Arena in an overseas showcase against the Detroit Pistons.

Shumpert has been out since the first round of last years playoffs against the Miami Heat after suffering an ACL and meniscus tear in his left knee. As a rookie last year, he averaged 9.5 points and 1.7 steals in 29 minutes per game and emerged as a promising, young perimeter defender, which the Knicks had sorely lacked in recent years.
