Danny Granger to miss rest of Pacers regular season

The Pacers announced Thursday that forward Danny Granger will miss the remainder of the season to undergo surgery on his left knee.

According to the Pacers:

The decision was made after all conservative treatment options could not alleviate the soreness Granger encountered. After consultation between Granger, the Pacers' medical staff and Dr. James Andrews, surgery became the preferred option.

Granger played just five games this season after returning in late February from a procedure in late October for patellar tendinosis. He's been sidelined since March 6 by soreness in the knee.

Before the announcement, the Pacers hoped Granger could return Thursday night against the Mavericks.

The Pacers said Granger is expected to be ready for training camp.
