Lakers' Metta World Peace has knee cyst drained, plans to play in Game 3

Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace had a cyst in his knee drained Friday and plans to play in Game 3 of their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs, the Los Angeles Times reports.

World Peace took to Twitter to announce the update on his knee.

World Peace underwent surgery March 28 after tearing his meniscus. He was supposed to be out for six weeks but returned to the lineup 12 days later.

The Lakers are down 2-0 to the San Antonio Spurs in the series. World Peace is averaging nine points on 32 percent shooting from the field.

The team is already without guards Kobe Bryant (Achilles) and Steve Blake (hamstring). Guard Steve Nash is doubtful with hamstring and hip injuries and guard Jodie Meeks is nursing an ankle injury and is doubtful for Friday's game.
